Our hotel has a very long history: As early as 1663, it has been known to be a country inn. After its owner Johann Georg Rieger, it was named "Hansjörg’s Wirtschaft".
The hotel’s name was changed several times throughout the centuries: “Ochsenwirt”, “Beim Wiesmayr", "Gaze Hotel", "Wittelsbacherhof", "Hotel Wittelsbacherhof", "Kurhotel Wittelsbach".
The current owner’s grandfather, Max Streibl, gave the hotel today’s name "Hotel Wittelsbach" in 1927.
Since that time, the hotel has been owned and operated by our family.
In 1932 the former bavarian prime minister Max Streibl was born here.
In 2003 the daughter Stefanie and her husband Lorenzo took over the hotel from Elisbeth and Uli Streibl.
We have always strived to honor the hotel’s long tradition while continuously renovating and upgrading its style and amenities to the highest standards of today’s travelers.
In 2005/2006 a new conference-room was built.
After the renovations in autumn 2007 and 2008 we renovated in autumn 2009 again more than 20 rooms and bathrooms totally for you.
